Entebbe’s top lady golfer Irene Nakalembe completed a hat-trick by claiming the 7th edition of the Castle Lite Entebbe Ladies Open.
Nakalembe accomplished her feat by winning by 7 strokes to cement her name in the Entebbe Golf History.
She shot two rounds of 74, 78 to end the two day event with a score of 152 gross to pick here third major crown on the 18 hole course that has become her most successful playground.
The soft spoken lady golfer now has won the tournament in 2015, 2016 and 2017. Vicky Elias, was the best competitor in category A (0-18) with a score of 74, 84 and a nett score of 155.
The two day event attracted a total of 180 golfers with visiting golfers from Tanzania, Kenya and Rwanda.
Phoebe Chandiru, who shot 72 and 73 finished with 145 net to claim Group B. Other winners over the two days included Palm valley’s Melon Kyomugisha, winning the Day 1 gross trophy with 85 gross.
With Uganda Golf Club’s Ann Abeja winning Day 2 with 89 gross the senior’s category was taken by former Uganda Ladies Golf Union president Esther Okullo, with 157 nett.
Martha Babirye and Joweria Namanda, won Longest drive and Nearest to the Pin.
