Ochieng wins at 20th JBG Open

Handicap 14 Jude Ochieng; beat a total of 210 golfers to claim the overall crown at the 20th JBG Open Golf tournament recently at the Entebbe Club.

The bespectacled amassed 43 stable ford points to conquer a strong field that had golfers from Jinja, Entebbe, Kampala, West Nile, Mbarara, Kabale, Rwanda, Kenya, Malawi.

National golfer and home boy Handicap 2 Andrew Byaruhanga, tamed his own course with a gross score of 70 to win the gross category without resistance.

Collin Ajidra, another golfer who started his trade on the same course and who overcame his misfortunes recently at the Uganda Open humbled the challenging 18 hole course by claiming the Group A men’s category with 42 points.

Artisan Reginah Namatta, was the ladies Group A winner with 35 points while Palm Valley’s Meron Kyomugisha was the ladies runner up with 31 points.

In-form and Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort based professional Fred Wanzala, won the professional category with a total gross of 142 over two days.
