Otile cruishes to the Top on Day 3 at the Uganda Open

Consistency will be very vital in tomorrow’s closing round at the 76th Castle Lite Uganda Amateur Open Golf Championships as Ronald Otile takes a 2 shot lead off 2 over par 211 at Entebbe Club.

“It’s going to be slaughter time tomorrow on the course,” the club house leader said. “I am not disappointed by today’s round and today I was putting well and the fairways where fine for me.”

Otile’s rhythm on the course was a mix as he registered 5 birdies on hole 1, 8, 13, 14, 18 incidentally he registered a hattrick of birdies on holes 13, 14, and 15.

“Those holes are short holes so if you know how to hit the ball it’s easy to record those birdies on those holes,” Otile stressed.

Yesterday’s leader John Karichu, is 3 shots off the pace with a score of 214 going into tomorrow’s pressure cooker stage.

“Today my putting was not going well right from hole 1 and I 4 putted on hole 15 as I was going for an eagle,” Karichu summed up his inconsistent game. “Tomorrow is make or break for me on the course.”
